THE BREATHTAKING COL DU TELEGRAPHE ROAD IN THE FRENCH ALPS
The Col du Télégraphe is a mountain pass in the French Alps, located in the Savoie department. It connects the Maurienne Valley to the north with the Romanche Valley to the south. The pass reaches an elevation of 1,566 meters (5,138 feet) above sea level. It is often featured in cycling events such as the Tour de France due to its challenging ascent and scenic views.
Traveling from east to west (from the Maurienne Valley to the Romanche Valley), the road climbs steadily with several hairpin bends as it ascends the mountain. The route offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Conversely, traveling from west to east (from the Romanche Valley to the Maurienne Valley), motorbikers experience a descent down the winding road, still enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the French Alps.
Regardless of the direction, driving or cycling along the Col du Télégraphe road provides an exhilarating experience amidst the natural beauty of the Alps.
